Why the Dead Sea is Salty
The Dead Sea is salty because it has no outlets so all of the minerals that go in stay (Berger). For example the water that supplies the Dead Sea from the Jordan River evaporates. The salt is left behind. After years and years of the salt content has built up so much that no species except for a couple types of bacteria can live in it! It took millions of years to get it to this amount.
